Levira is entering the Internet of Things market

22.02.2017

Telecom and IT infrastructure provider Levira will start offering Internet of Things (IoT) services together with its partners.

“We will enter the IoT market with the smart investment approach by building the network for clients who are ready to start using the IoT opportunities right away. Jointly with our partners, we will be offering fast and flexible solutions in a network designed in cooperation with our clients and according to their needs,” said Tiit Tammiste, Chairman of the Board.

“Levira’s network service will enable gathering data from sensors and prepare the data for further processing. This means that our clients can focus on their business processes and create added value with the help of collected data,” explained Meelis Anton, Director of Levira’s Network Services Division.

Levira will be working with its technological partner Nordic Automation to provide IoT services and with AU Energiateenus to offer solutions for end customers.

“For companies, the benefit of IoT lies in the availability of data that leads to improved economic performance. Monitoring and informed analysis enable us to make smarter decisions, which helps save resources, including energy. IoT also allows monitoring of objects without building automation systems, and considerably simplifies data collection and forwarding,” said Aivar Uutar, member of the Management Board of AU Energiateenus OÜ.

Nordic Automation Systems (NAS, www.nasys.no), which will be providing the necessary technologies and hardware, is a Norwegian-Estonian company of wireless telematics and sensor technologies. NAS supplies water meters, temperature, energy, and other sensors, which comply with the international LoRaWAN™ IoT standard, and LoRaWAN™ base stations. The company is operating in Norway and Estonia, employing 25 specialists in its production and development units.

AU Energiateenus (www.energiateenus.ee), which will be delivering Levira’s IoT services to end customers, helps commercial real estate owners and users in the Baltic and Scandinavian regions to improve economic performance through increased energy and resource efficiency. The company’s systematic and informed approach has saved its clients around 2.6 MEUR on energy costs.

The Internet of Things is made up of devices that collect data from sensors and forward the data to the service provider.
