New Chief Executive Officer to focus on European growth and resilient media services

Levira today welcomes Tõnu Grünberg, who starts as Chief Executive Officer (Chairman of the Management Board). He takes over from Tiit Tammiste, who led the company for ten years.

Tõnu joins Levira from the Estonian Ministry of Justice and Digital Affairs, where he spent close to two years as Deputy Secretary General and Government Chief Technology Officer. He was responsible for the state’s digital infrastructure, including government data centres, cloud services and public telecommunications, as well as cyber security. His work there included developing the Data Embassy concept as a resilient, sovereign platform for live services outside Estonian territory.

“Levira has a strong base of resilient infrastructure, modern media and broadcast platforms and highly capable teams. My focus is to build on that, so that more broadcasters, streaming platforms and media companies across Europe can rely on Levira to run and deliver their services, with the resilience and security that critical services demand. I am looking forward to getting started with the team.”

Chief Executive Officer, Levira

Growing across Europe

Tõnu’s first priority is growth in the European market, supporting a growing number of international media companies. The United Kingdom is already Levira’s largest export market, served through Levira Media Services Ltd, and Levira’s managed services give him a broad base to build on: managed media operations, streaming and video distribution, connectivity, outside broadcast, and information technology and data centre infrastructure.

Resilience as the standard

Broadcasters and streaming platforms depend on live services that cannot fail. Tõnu brings a technical background and experience of running secure, resilient digital infrastructure at national scale, and he will apply that to the way Levira delivers for its customers. Levira combines broadcast-grade operations with the flexibility of modern internet protocol and cloud workflows, with experienced operators accountable for delivery, compliance and quality.

A partner that evolves with its customers

Tõnu will also focus on bringing customers increasingly innovative services. Linear and streaming services now run side by side and keep changing, so Levira keeps its approach flexible: clear pricing and scope, services that scale up or down as needs change, and no rigid infrastructure or long-term commitments. Automation supports Levira’s operators and helps improve efficiency and quality.
